Editors who love love love to read manuscripts often make the worst publishers. Which is why we’re so awful. We’re thrilled by talking ourselves into liking something enough to bring it out. That whole ‘panic of discussion’ thing. And if the lines seem a little messy? That’s the charm!

This year’s finalists include two unplaced manuscripts which were resubmitted from last year—a shout out for not giving up on your horse and for revision (as needed), even if making a change means going against your nature or your own curated narrative.

Congratulations to all who sent us a manuscript. We will re-read the finalists and have publication decisions in February. We hope to have a cohort of 4 titles for 2027.
